Netflix Shows You NEED to Binge

Hey coffee lovers! Everyone is guilty of spending the day (or a few) watching an entire series on Netflix. It’s honestly inevitable, and there are a few shows that I had no trouble canceling plans to binge.

Stranger Things

Oh. My. Goodness. Stranger Things is phenomenal… once you get past the first episode. I will admit, “Chapter One: The Vanishing of Will Byers” is hard to get through and pretty slow. You obviously can’t skip it because it gives insider to everything in the show, but it’s very tempting to immediately drop Stranger Things just from this episode. Once you get past that first, you’re hooked. Each episode is a rollercoaster, and the 80’s vibes make me so happy. It’s definitely for anyone into crazy twists and turns, and lots of hilarious kids. The characters are super likeable, and Winona Ryder is the absolute greatest human in the world as Joyce Byers.

The Fosters

I love this show because it is literally so real and the characters actually feel like people you know. There are times where I cringe at their actions, but all in all it’s just a really good show to watch when you want to feel every emotion at once. There’s honestly nothing super special about this show, I mainly love it because it has so many relatable moments.

The Crown

A friend of mine recommended this to me, and I watched it all in two days. I was mostly interested in Claire Foy because she was in Vampire Academy (my favorite movie of all time), and I was blown away with her performance. If you’re into royals shows, look no farther. Netflix did such a great job with The Crown and with making it as accurate as possible. All of the actors do a great job in their portrayals of real people in history, which is not the easiest. I haven’t seen season 2 yet, but I’m planning on watching it soon.

Skin Wars

I’m really not sure why it’s so easy to watch all of Skin Wars in one sitting, but it is. I love RuPaul Charles judging, and there’s the perfect balance of interest and realness. Also, body painting is just cool in general!

Sherlock (series 4)

Don’t even get me started on how good Sherlock is. Every episode is 90 minutes, but they’re 90 amazing minutes. That being said, there are only 3 episodes in a season. I am in love with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, they just work so well together. The casting is beyond perfect for every characters, and the funny lines are not too frequent but perfect. This show is a wild ride, but every minute is fantastic. Seriously, this might be my favorite on this list.

If you know me, you know I LOVE horror. Scream really isn’t the best show, but it’s so addictive. It’s basically a modern remake of the Scream movies, with its own special take. Even though the ending was pretty sucky, I couldn’t stop watching because I wanted to find out the killer. It was fun to watch nonetheless, and I definitely don’t regret the countless hours watching. I will add, the acting was terrible and it made it almost comical!

Honorable mentions:

Everyone loves Friends (obviously), but it’s not a show I would watch from start to finish. I like to call it a “sick show” since I watch it if I don’t want to pay attention. If I’m sick or doing homework, I like to just turn on Friends.

The Good Doctor

The Good Doctor is not on Netflix, but it deserves a place on this list. The show is about an autistic surgeon, and wow Freddie Highmore does a fantastic job as Dr. Shawn Murphy. I was seriously blown away by his performance, and felt he truly did justice to the character. Representation in the media is so important, and The Good Doctor executes it phenomenally.

So, what are your favorite shows to binge? I’m in serious need of some shows to sell my soul to, so let me know what you love! Until next time, grab a coffee and binge some Netflix!
