Hey, coffee lovers! Obviously I have a small problem with buying coffee from Starbucks. Very small, it’s not like I lose hundreds of dollars to them each year or whatever. Basically I really like Starbucks, and have accumulated a lot of wisdom when it comes to ordering the best drinks. Although I must confess I’ve had maybe three frappuccinos in my lifetime, so this list doesn’t have any on it. I’m obviously up for trying one so if you want to convince me to order a Frappuccino, I’m looking for a really good argument!
Iced Drinks:
Iced Green Tea Latte: Fair warning, some people think this tastes like grass. You either love it or hate it, and I LOVE it. It tastes pretty sweet, but it’s matcha rather than classic green tea. I’ll get it hot most times since it’s been cold lately, but iced is my favorite.
Iced Caramel Macchiato: This is by far the best caramel drink and it’s perfect if you don’t want something bitter. I love getting this to just sip on during the day.
Iced Chai Tea Latte: If this is made well, it’s amazing. Sometimes I find that it’s made with a bit too much spice which throws off the drink, but if not it’s delicious.
Pink drink (strawberry açaí refresher with coconut milk): First off, if you know how to pronounce açaí please tell me because I have absolutely no idea, and I’m beginning to think I’ve been making a fool of myself in front of all baristas. This is such a summer drink; especially perfect on Wednesday’s so the mean girl in you can be happy. It’s very refreshing-as the name says-and is my favorite non coffee drink at Starbucks. It’s also incredibly aesthetic, so there’s that.
Hot drinks:
Brown sugar shortbread latte: This drink is what Christmas dreams are made of. It’s only a winter drink, so get it while it lasts! It’s just one of those coffees that warms you up when it’s freezing outside.
Chestnut praline latte: The southern belle in me loves pralines; and though this latte may not be like any praline from the French quarter, it’s definitely delicious.
Caramel brûlée latte: A lot of Starbucks actually don’t have this drink, but if the one you’re at does, this is a must have.
Food:
Cake pop: I’m sure you’ve had a cake pop from Starbucks, if you haven’t you’re not living your life to the fullest.
Bantam bagels: I finally tried the bagel bites and they are fantastic. Not super filling, but still a nice snack. The everything bagel bites are my favorite, but the French toast are good as well.
Cheese danish: Perfect breakfast food if you’re on the go and need something to eat real quick. Very croissant like and delicious.
So those were what I think are the best things on the Starbucks menu. If you can think of anything I left out, let me know! Until next time, grab a coffee and eat a cake pop!
I think “some people thinks it tastes like grass” is an understatement.
