Our little guy turned three yesterday and I’m still processing how fast those three years went. 🥹

Not a day goes by that he doesn’t amaze me! I feel so dang lucky to be his mama. 💛

Thank you to everyone that joined us to celebrate the amazing boy he is. He’s so loved and I know he felt it to the fullest! 🫶

As you can see, Keanu is obsessed with trick-or-treating and is confused why we can’t trick-or-treat every night! 😂👻

Thank you everyone that celebrated with us! I totally messed up and didn’t get photos with my whole fam. 😭 Next year’s goals: Don’t work on Halloween, take all the photos, no last-minute costumes 😅

Book number 27 of this year: The Courage to be Disliked.

I always look for books in areas I want to improve, and one of those is not caring too much about what people think of me.

This one was an interesting philosophical take on happiness and acceptance of one’s self. It’s a conversation between a youth & philosopher. I’ve highlighted my three favorite quotes that I think sums it up pretty well.

I hope it helps someone who needed it!

October things 🎃

It would be great if October was twice as long as other months. 👻 Who’s with me?

This year has been our running year. As a family, we’ve each run 4 half-marathons and one marathon (two for Jordan)!

Running has given us so many positive memories, goals to chase, improved health, and it’s how Kai gained a best friend. 🥹

Whenever we talk to someone about our latest run the response is usually “Omg I could never do that!” But I think people don’t realize that for all three of us (for EVERYONE) it started with just 1 mile. Even Jordan took convincing, and now he is running marathons. I never thought I could run a half, let alone a full, but I did it in just one year! I may be slow but this is just the beginning. 🙃

Point is, move for your future self. You never know where it will go. You may start with a daily walk, and surprise yourself with what you’re capable of. A stronger heart now = better quality of life later. 🫶

I used to think I ate well in college because I wo

I used to think I ate well in college because I would have Raisin Bran or Mini Wheats for breakfast, salads or rice bowls on campus (IF I ate), and cooked a meal at home every other week. 😅

Mind you, this was far better than what I grew up on: ALL the sugary cereals, Pepsi, chips, pastries, fast food, and mama’s Mexican food (I love you mama & your food 😋!)

I say all this to point out that food is such a journey. You can’t improve your nutrition overnight. I’m still working on it! Some things that have helped me are:

• Focusing on one meal until you have that down. Breakfast is my favorite! Have fun with it and try new things.
• Aim for protein, a healthy fat, diverse fruits, greens if you can (I’m hardly there yet), and limited carbs. Usually fruit is my carbs unless I have a protein bagel or oatmeal.
• When in doubt think “Whole Foods”, the less processed the better! Again, protein bagel = my weakness.
• If you have coffee, keep it zero sugar or low sugar and add some collagen peptides!

I hope this motivates someone somewhere to feed their body what it deserves. 🫶
