  • It’s a busy life, but never boring. 🙃
  • Third half-marathon in the books! Though I got the exact same time as my last half (2:22!), I felt much better for this one. And it was a trail run! I constantly have to remind myself that just finishing is a huge accomplishment. It’s hard not to compare when I see women my age running 1:25 and wondering how am I so slowww?? But I know it takes patience, hard work, and lots of training time that I struggle to put in. That’s what I love about running, tracking progress is easily quantifiable. A few things that helped: • Immediately had coffee, a banana, and @kodiakcakes muffin cup before we headed out at 5 am 😩 • Coffee kickstarted that digestion if you know what I mean. I always struggle with not being able to go until halfway through the run, not this time! (tmi) 😅 • Ate a @honeystinger waffle 30 min before starting • Took acetaminophen to ease my knee pain. This made the run so much more enjoyable! I usually flare up at mile 6-8, I was too stubborn to take anything before but wow now I believe! • Got a hydration vest and consistently hydrated with both water and electrolytes • Fueled more consistently than ever. I could have probably fueled even more. Every time the carbs hit I could feel the difference! Still not sure if I’m ready to do a full, but putting myself to the test and trying 22 miles next weekend with Kai. 😬 Huge thank you to my love, @_jordanfelix for encouraging me to keep going when I wanted to stop and capturing some running (jogging?) footage! #runnersofinstagram #halfmarathon #justkeeprunning @elevationculture

  • The most perfect snow day we’ve all ever had. ❄️🏂 Vail did not disappoint!! The powder was as good as it gets, the crowds were nonexistent, the views, the slopes, everything was perfect! 🥹🌨️🏔️🌲
  • Each run is just a reminder of what my body is capable of and motivation to keep improving. I beat my last time, running a 2:22! My left knee started giving out around mile 7-8. Definitely the most painful run I’ve ever had. I’m learning the hard way that I need to take training more seriously if I want to give my body the best chance. Sounds obvious, but it’s easy to think you can get away with 10 miles a week to prepare. 😅 Really I should be 20 miles at least! What I love about running is that your only competition is yourself. 😊 Until you get to the level of placing, that is. 🥇 I’m super proud of Kai and Jordan! Kai cut her half-marathon time by 25 minutes! And Jordan ran a 1:49! 😱🥹 Staying fit and having these experiences together as a family just makes me so happy and grateful. Time to start training for the next one! 🙌

Each run is just a reminder of what my body is capable of and motivation to keep improving. I beat my last time, running a 2:22! My left knee started giving out around mile 7-8. Definitely the most painful run I’ve ever had. I’m learning the hard way that I need to take training more seriously if I want to give my body the best chance. Sounds obvious, but it’s easy to think you can get away with 10 miles a week to prepare. 😅 Really I should be 20 miles at least! What I love about running is that your only competition is yourself. 😊 Until you get to the level of placing, that is. 🥇 I’m super proud of Kai and Jordan!
